Death To Life Forevermore
by

Mary Carter Mizrany

Had I known, then
What I know now,
Would my choices been different;
My life better, somehow?,

When I held the reins,
Had I hawed 'stead of gee'd
Would the sign 'pon my pathway
Be "You're Bound To Succeed"?

Had I answered the knock,
When You stood at my heart's door,
Would "Peace Like A River"
Flood my soul, evermore?

And, would "Joy Everlasting"
Be my cherished refrain?
Would Light swallow the darkness
And expunge this bitter pain?

"Yes", replied Jesus, "For,
The Truth will make you free.
Your life will be different
If you'll only choose me".

Their tears mingled with The Blood,
'Neath The Cross, 'pon the ground
And a life changed, eternally,
That, before, was Hell bound.

Angels began rejoicing
Hallelu Yah's fill'd Heaven's shore.
The Holy Spirit sealed The Promise,
"Death to Life Forevermore"!
