| He crossed His Heart by Vicki Wood |
|
He crossed His heart, On that fateful day. He loved us all. But, to Him, some did betray. "If You really are The King of Kings, Then save Yourself." That's what they did say. He crossed His heart, On the old rugged tree. He looked to the Heaven and asked, "Father, why have You forsaken Me?" Your mother, Mary, couldn't Believe what she did see. As the sky darkened, You painfully raised Your head. Tears streamed down Your face, "It Is Finished," were the last words You said. With Your eyes now closed And Your lifeless body went limp, The silent crowd now whispered, "Oh no, He really is dead!" As Your lifeless body hung On that old rugged cross, Your mother was crying For her terrible loss. You gave Your life for me, Lord, You paid the highest of all cost. They took Your body to a tomb And sealed it with a stone. On the third day, You rose, As we thought God took You home. After You saw Your people and Your friends, You are now sitting by Your Father On the right hand side of the Throne. |
