Rebecca Among the Daisies |
|
My little niece Rebecca Is always filled with wonder, When she goes to pick the daisies At Morien Sandbar in the Summer. Why, they grow almost as tall as she, As down she bends upon her knee; To pick a bouquet for Don and me, And take some home for her grampy to see. A special little flower to her, As to her Grandma Sandy, they were. Each time to the sandbar we go, She spots a bunch, her face is aglow, She runs and nestles In a clump of yellow and white, These daisies that she loves so much, So vibrant and so bright. She stands among the daisies, Wearing her Grandma's blouse, Sniffing her bouquet of flowers, Under the blue skies and fluffy clouds. This little flower, so beautiful, That grows so wild and free - A Gift from God to a little girl, Such a delightful sight to see. I will bring you here each Summer, We'll play in the water, and have such fun; And we won't forget the daisies Growing wild in the bright, warm sun. |
