| The Playmate by Asha Srinath |

Not long ago when we as kids played on the street, Not caring the Sun's heat, Till it was time to go back home We promised each other that we would meet the next day..Again to play, So we grew up together.. Now with us going to a different place Years since we saw each other's face But one day when we did get to meet We were no more friends but strangers separated by several feet.. We shall meet each other again - or so we thought - But in the busy life were we caught.. Years have hence rolled by since we last met.. But this time the promise of meeting each other never being kept. |
