When you loose someone you love
by

Jacklynn MacKenzie

The sharp edge of pain becomes dull in time,
But the hurt lingers on in our hearts our life long.
It's our "intimate" companion, but we wish it would leave,
However, it's part of life for us who grieve.

We can't let the hurt take control of our lives,
And yet there are so many times -
That we sit, and we cry and remember the past,
But we must find comfort in the things that last.
Things like love and faith, like trust and hope,
Like courage and strength to help us cope,
When we feel so empty and all alone -
When God has called our loved one Home.

Our thoughts become much deeper;
Our lives change in so many ways -
We participate, we laugh, we cry and go along our way;
No one knows the emptiness
We feel within our hearts;
Only God can heal the pain,
And His peace to us impart.

So, if you've lost someone you love
Who was so very dear,
I pray that God will comfort you,
For He is always near.
He's only just a whisper of a prayer away from you,
And He wants to take your burdens away, and be your friend so true.
