Why Do I Write?
by

Mary Carter Mizrany

Why do I write, you ask me?
Why does a bird have wings?
Why does a rose have fragrance?
WHO creates all these things?

Why do I write? It's a mystery
That merely opinions can sell.
Yet, there is One Master Writer
Who gives me the stories to tell.

He speaks to my heart, I answer.
Thoughts flow in sweet harmony.
My heart is a ready~writer,
In obedience to God, willingly.

He whispers, "Tell them of my glory.
Relate, of my unconditional love,
The gift of Christ Jesus, salvation,
My sweet Holy Spirit, the Dove."

As a Living Stream 'cross the pages,
I pen Jesus' portrait, so sweet;
The cross - the crown - the sacrifice,
Where His Blood and man's sin meet.

Why do I write, you ask me?
There's no other answer, I must;
Commissioned by Father in Heaven.
For it is in God I trust !
