From Saul to Paul

Saul's Conversion

Saul was a Pharisee who hated Jesus.
He despised His followers, too.
So, he plotted and planned, every chance that he had,
To destroy the disciples he knew.

While on the road to Damascus,
Where Saul learned his disciples had fled,
Saul saw a great light and heard Jesus' voice.
He could have sworn that Jesus was dead.

As Jesus was speaking with Saul,
Saul realized that he had been wrong
And that Jesus was the "Son Of God";
Reigning beside God, on His throne.

So, Saul begged Jesus' forgiveness
For disbelieving that He was God's Son.
And, he asked Jesus how he could make up
For all the wicked things he had done.

Now, Saul had been blinded by God's Holy light.
So, God forgave Saul and restored his eyesight.
Then, He told Saul what he wanted him to do;
To carry His gospel to the Gentiles and Jews.

Then, God changed his name from Saul to Paul,
who spread God's word from Rome's prison wall.
Paul was arrested, but still undeterred.
He wrote his letters to the churches,
still spreading God's word.
