| King Ahaz |
|
That king Ahaz, That king of Judah, The wicked one, Who was the Lord's Great Transgressor! That king Who neglected that he was God’s son. That king Who took portions from God’s home, And gave to the Assyrian king For his help against King Pekah and King Rezin, Kinda like a bribe, in the land where they roamed. That king Who shook with jitters When news came of the alliance against him; His bravery wilted like unwatered grass. And he turned his back on God . That Assyrian king, Turned his back on King Ahaz And was God’s weapon, Against Ahaz, himself, of Judah. Because King Ahaz ignored God’s plea, And the message Isaiah tried to make Ahaz see. That Assyrian King Was his invader, not Ahaz’s aid to invade. And King Ahaz, The only lesson he did learn, Was to worship idols. He became ! more wicked, And it cost him everything in the end. |
