A Prayer
"Dear Lord," thus I began,
"Help me love my fellow man.
Give me strength to carry through
The duties that I owe to you.

Watch me through my every day.
Keep me safe, along life's way.
Love thy children. Forgive their sins."
This is how my prayers begins.

We lie, we cheat, we even steal.
Some go so far to even kill.
The things we do should be unpardoned.
But still, God's heart has not hardened.

"Cherish those who've failed thee not.
Thy goodness is what we've sought.
Keep us near thy guiding hand.
Show us to your promised land.

Bless us, each and everyone.
Guide us 'til the day is done
And, when the night has settled o'er,
We pray that you would love us more.

These things I ask in Jesus' name,
That He would help the sick and lame.
Forgive us where we've failed thee, Lord,
And, God, bless those that are adored."
