Poems

A Savior Was Born
You have to pay your taxes,
The Emperor decreed, one day.
You must go to your own city.
So, many journeyed on their way,

The road was long and dusty.
The nights were freezing cold.
But, many had the Lord to guide them
Like the shepherd guides his fold.

Bethlehem was the destination
Of two weary travellers, that night.
They hoped to find a room there,
Out of the snow, so cold and white.

Gentle Mary, great with child,
And Joseph, the carpenter strong,
Found no room at any Inn ~
After travelling all day long,

Finally, a stable was offered
And a Savior was born that day;
Jesus, who would grow up to die,
Our debt of sins He'd have to pay.

Gentle Mary went to Bethlehem
And a Savior was born that day;
Jesus, the reason for the season,
With love we celebrate your day.
