Crossword Puzzle
I was working on a crossword puzzle
(Pencil and eraser in hand),
Trying to figure out the clues
That the puzzle did demand.

Four across, who loved the world?
Three down, who gave his son?
One across, who made a promise?
Two down, I'm almost done.

Five across, who gave us light?
Seven down, who created man?
Six across, who keeps your tears?
Eight down, who lends a hand?

I worked the clues and didn't erase.
I tried, hard, to poke and prod.
Finally working out the puzzle,
The answer to the crossword was God!
