Poems

I'll Never Be
I'll never be a Tiger Woods
And get a hole in one.
I'll never play at Wimbledon
For money or even for fun.

I'll never be the First Lady.
My name will not be in lights.
I'll never be a demonstrator ~
Demanding, for all, equal rights.

I'll always write my poetry.
But, I'll never be Helen Steiner Rice.
I'll always believe in Jesus
Because, for me, He paid the price.

There are things I'll never be
And things I will never do.
But, one thing I'll always be
Is a Christian, through and through.

For God so loved the world,
He gave His only begotten Son
And I am the one who believes it,
As I pray for His will to be done.
