| Heaven's Fair City |
|
There's a place so fair and regal, much more than the day. We've read of it in His word, how He would show us the way Through His Son, Jesus; born in a manger of lowly estate. But, this Son, this day, in Heaven doth wait. He is in our heart, also, willing us to come and go O'er the crystal sea, along with He. The Father He doth know. He walked on earth, preaching and trying to show the way To Heavens fair city, one wonderful and glorious day. He walked and talked with the disciples, taught them so much love; How to love thy neighbor as thyself, about Heavens fair city above. He preached the Sermon on the Mount. To His duties He did attend. And one sweet day, when we see things as they are, our ways we'll truly amend. The joy of gathering, in that glad day, with Jesus, over there; Leaving this Old World of sin, crossing Jordan's banks so fair. I want to look for Saint Peter, Moses, and also Saint Paul; Whose story I've read o'er and o'er. And, I pray to see family and all. Yes, He promises He will rapture all of us up, one sweet day, Leaving these old worries and troubles far, far, away. We need our Savior to lead us across, way over there, All the way to Heavens fair city; so wondrously, gloriously, fair. |
