Have You Ever Seen An Angel?

( I wrote this poem for a friend from Germany who flies a military aircraft.)

Have you ever seen an angel
As you fly through clouds above,
With wings of white, shimmering bright--
Like the many stars that light the night?

Have you ever felt an angel nearby
As you fly so high in the clear blue sky--
Have you ever felt one hovering near--
In times of danger, in times of fear?

Have you ever touched an angels wings
Or heard the song an angel sings?
As you fly so low, or over mountains you go,
Have you ever seen a heavenly glow?

Although you may not have seen one,
I'm sure one is always there,
A guardian angel who's so close to you,
As you fly every day through the air.

Although you may not have felt one nearby,
I'm sure there's always one by your side--
Guiding you, keeping you safe all the way,
'till you're back on the ground at the end of the day.

Although you may not have touched an angels'wings,
Or heard the song the angel sings--
As sure as there's a Heaven above,
There's one watching over you with love.

So, as you fly through the azure sky,
Remember there is an angel hovering nearby;
Keeping you safe from danger, always watching over you;
Guiding you every mile that you fly, until your journey is through.
