| Easter |
|
Easter came to Martha And Mary Magdalene When they came, that first morning, Upon the garden scene. But, Easter came to my heart When I was all alone, Caught up in a whirlwind, Far away from home. At first, they were bewildered By such a wondrous sight - Until the angel spoke to them; Led them to the light. And, just like them, I doubted All the tenderness inside - But found I had to yield to Love; Leave my worldly pride. They took the news to Peter, To Andrew and to John. For all of them, it was so hard to Understand; move on. It was then that they discovered The word of God is true! Wonder of wonders, I Discovered this truth, too. When Easter comes to your heart And, at last, you learn to lean - You find the sharp two edged sword Can always slip between ... The ways of man - the ways of God; The dross that takes away from Splendid beauty planned for you, Upon the upward way. When Easter comes to dwell with you, Each day your whole life through; When you burn all the bridges that Dealt misery to you ... When Easter comes, though nights be long, There's a hand that guides you through. There's a song to sing, when it's not yet Spring. There's a heaven waiting you! |
