| I Don't Count It |
|
I don't count it time that's wasted When I teach the pat-a-cake, Nor the time we point the stars out 'Til they know the paths they take. I don't count it time that's wasted When we sing the baby songs And they can say the name of Jesus, And do the sing-a-longs. I can't see a better value than The tiny folded hands, When they learn to say the bedtime prayer And begin to understand. When I hear them sing, "Be careful, Little eyes - what you see," I can see the wisdom, plainly; Teaching toddlers songs like these. You can't even waste a minute When you put foundations down. It is never ever wasted. It will never bring a frown. For, the precepts (taught, so young) Still last a whole life through. Someday, they may remember that They learned this love from you! |
