Poems

Inept

I had no pulpit or platform,
No stage and couldn't perform.
But, I had words the Lord gave me
And they were mine to hoard.

But, she said, "Oh, share them with the world,
The Lord will give you more!"

I had no idea I would tap
A world of ideas and words,
Much less that any would listen.
For, those close around had not heard.

But, she said, "I've a calling. I'll do my part.
You just send what is in your heart!"

So, we started a mile together and
It was pure joy all the way!
The pencil and pad, that were growing old,
Got carried around every day!

And, the Lord, up above,
Blest us both with great love.
He multiplied and divided!
He used all the mathematical ways
And keeps us from getting one sided.

Slowly, the fear of the laughter of scorn
Has faded and confidence steadies.
Who knows what the Lord will bring about?
We have opened up the levies.

The water of Life can flow without fear
Of us hoarding this precious Love.
For, as we open the levy to all -
We open it from above!
