Poems

BEHOLD!
I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK

Don't be disturbed when someone stands
And says that Jesus' face
Offends him 'cause it hangs somewhere
In a very public place.

If man could only realize
That he will never win
The battle fought against the One
Who can save him from his sin.

So God's children must prepare to fight!
It's the only way to win!
If we give up, then rest assured
They'll take His picture down again.

God knows it's hard to keep your peace
When someone mouths wicked things
About the One God calls His Son.
There's a sorrow that brings.

So raise your voice in praise to Him
Who holds within His hand
The keys that work the universe;
And take a firmer stand

Against the enemies of the cross!
They're everywhere today.
And soon they'll come up with these words,
"We'll take your freedom away."

Someone will file a suit and say,
"Carrying your Bible is offending me,
So I'll just call the ACLU
And they'll win this case for free."

But one day soon [you need to know--
Without a doubt it will take place!]
The heavens are going to open wide
And you'll see Jesus face to face.

Don't you take His picture off the wall
So no one else will see!
And thank God, He will never die again!
Once was enough for me.
