Poems

'Waterfall'
Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall,
Water flows from the mountain wall.
Somebody built a shelter there
Halfway up in the mountain air
Around a pipe where the water flowed
Close set, right beside the road.
Tinkling whether snow or drought,
Giving life to the land about
It's flowed here since eons ago
And 'twill flow on for time unknown

Just so, my God sends His loving Son
And all His gifts to everyone.
Flowing down around our heads
But, we must stop a while, instead
Of moving on with scarce a glance
At the joyful water's dance.
You cannot hear its music fine
If you're so afraid of the one behind
That you hurry on to another place
While the peace and joy falls on the face
Of the one who stopped to hear the call
Of the tinkling, dancing waterfall.
