| Memorial Day |
|
This is devoted to all the valiant Men and Women who have passed away. You gave of yourself freely, So the rest could carry on; Sometimes, from early morning Until the break of dawn. You may have been a Housewife, Clergy, or the President. It makes no difference. For, you left your mark on all of us The day you were born and sent. Sent by God to love, Prosper, and unite As you spread your wings, Just like an eagle taking flight. Many battles you have fought And won, many a grueling war. For our rights and freedom, you walked Proudly on land, sea, and shore. We will honor your memory, fly our flags, And put flowers on your grave. For, you showed integrity and, In our hearts, your memory will remain. Many may not have been a Hero. But, we remember, still, all The families who have passed on, who Worshiped God and believed in His free will. Some may light a candle, Say a silent prayer. We all shall celebrate and respect you. For, you were just and fair. On this Memorial Day, In Two Thousand and Three We want to say, "Thank You," As we honor thee. |
