A Friend to the End
by

Robert H. Gilbert, Jr

If you will call out His name,
He will wash away your sins
And give you a fresh start in life.

If you will call out His name,
The darkness will be gone:
A friend to the end for you and me.

When your life is full of burdens
And it's hard to go on, and
Everything that you do is all wrong ...

When your heart is filled with anger
Or there is a frown on your face,
Just call Him and you will smile again.

At the end, we will all stand
Together; face to face,
We will see Him at last.

There is a smile on His face
When He looks at you, and
He will say, "My child welcome home".

Yes, He died on the Cross
At Calvary, where He suffered
And died for you and me.

His blood gave us life.
His words spoke the truth;
A friend to the end for you and me.
