America's Christmas Prayer by Mary Manard
Dear Lord,
I thank You for America and what she means to me;
for there's no other country where its people can be free.
I pray, Dear Lord, with all the things that's happened this past year,
that we can live another day without the thought of fear.
I know that all across the world so many live in strife,
and if they try to worship You, they're sure to lose their life.
But You have blessed America with freedom everyday;
we're free to praise Your Holy Name; we're free to sing and pray.
Our children whom we dearly love can freely play outside,
and when we gather in Your Name, we never have to hide.
So with these thoughts, I've just one wish this year on Christmas Day,
this freedom that we cherish, let not others take away.
Amen.
