THE BEST OF ME PRAYER
by

Sandra Griffin

Lord, I'm troubled, again, today.
My faith seems a bit small.
There is none other, Lord; only you,
As upon your name I call.
Please ease my troubled heart.
Free it from my fear.
Help me, in my smallest faith,
To know that You are near.
You've always lifted shadows
That would hide the sun from view.
My troubles seem to disappear
When I give them up to You.
You never make demands or tasks
That exceed my ability.
You give me strength, through my trial,
That makes the best of me.
When hard times come, Dear Lord,
And I fear to meet my test,
Extra faith You teach to me;
So that I can do my best.
I know You hold my tomorrows
And You lead me by Your hand.
Only what I can reach to do
Is all that you demand.
Sometimes, storms and frightening things
Make my spirit fail.
You just lift my shadows up, again,
As upon Your name I call.
As a measure of my faith, Dear Lord,
Such will my blessings be.
For, I know my faith grows in the trial
That makes the very best of me.
Amen
