| Contemplation by Jacklynn MacKenzie |

I love walking Morien Sandbar each morn, Looking down toward Morien Bay - Watching the sun peep over the horizon, At the dawn of another day. To see the sunbeams skipping Across the blue-green sea, To take a moment to contemplate This beauty God has given me. Anyone who has walked along the sand beside the sea, Must surely believe in a Higher Power, Wouldn't you agree? For, who other than God could form a shell so dainty, or a rock so smoothe and nice? Who but God could fashion a starfish, Or a sand dollar, so precise? How can you pick up a handful of sand, Without it causing you to wonder - How can God be so knowledgeable and wise To know the very number Of every tiny grain of sand that line the beaches of our land? It's something that I contemplate, But can't fully understand! Then I recall the passage in the Bible where I read; God knows the very number of the hairs upon our head. As I gaze out upon the water Lapping up against the shore, I feel God's presence around me, I feel my faith restored. |
