Poems
| Contemplation by Steve Della Penna |

A drop of early morning dew
Creeps down a blade of grass, Corpulent from its battle with gravity. Sunlight blankets its glossy skin With a sheen of sparkling brilliance, A myriad of miniature rainbows Coruscating through to its transparent core. Slowly it inches toward its destination, The grass blade bending ever so slightly Under the water's relative heft. The glistening dewdrop finally reaches its limit. Hesitantly stretching at the tip of the blade, Gravity triumphs and the drop falls, Regaining its rotundness during free-fall. Moments later it reaches the puddle, Its identity lost to the casual observer But its importance to the puddle Seen only through enlightened eyes. |
