The Lonely Girl At Lunch

by Aaron Dolezal

I see you sitting there alone
I think to myself how beautiful you look.
I wonder to myself if you even notice me.

You glance around showing off your beautiful face to me.
I look around thinking all eyes are on me.
Nobody is watching, no one would notice if I moved and sat by you.
I see you sitting there alone.

Seated Woman
The time passes slowly, like sand through a hand.
I never take my eyes off you.
I wonder if you even notice me.
One of my friends walked by saying, "Talk to her."
My heart tries to make me move but my feet are heavy.
I see you sitting there alone.

You keep glancing around, and your eyes lock with mine.
I smile but you do not seem to notice I do not blame you.
I wonder to myself if you even notice me.

Seated Man
Then, I finally make my feet move.
Then, the ending bell sounds, and you are gone but I will try again.
I see you sitting there alone.
I wonder to myself if you even notice me alone.
