HER DEATH
Quiet sobs could be heard
Signifying hearts that have been hurt
How, they were wondering, could this have happened?
To a girl who promised a bright future
Her lifeless body lay in the coffin
Contradicting her cheery character

They found her a bit too late
'Coz by then, she was dead
With her pillows still wet,
She laid there, a sorry sight.
Apparently she had cried by herself
Preparing herself to do the next.

Her veins were neatly sliced
Her arms were wide apart
As if calling to God to take her,
To end her life that night.
She can't stand a day no more
To face the future with her heart so sore.

Her blood was still flowing
When they found her that night
They tried to shake her awake
But instead they got lifeless eyes.
Shocked, reality couldn't sink in then
'Till they found her letter addressed to them.

Her letter:
I'm sorry but I've got no other choice
My heart has been bleeding
For too long a time
Yet, everyone seems to be mocking me.
I can't come up to it
To the fact that he is gone
Away from my life and this world.
Injustice has been done.
Why did he have to leave so soon?
Did we not promise each other,
To be together, forever?
I do not regret doing this
Though I know it is selfish
Please pray that I'll be happy
When I'll finally meet my honey.
I love you Mummy,
I love you Daddy.
And please, try to forget me.
With that, those are her last words
Words that were never heard
The loss of a family friend
Was great enough
Now, the loss of their daughter
Made it even more tough

With great reluctance
They left the graveyard
But they turned around again
To have a last glance
Their daughter looks so peaceful.
So free from her pain.

That was the last time
They ever saw their daughter
Before she was lowered into the soil
To fulfill her quest, to find
Her lost lover
In hope of them,
Being together, forever.
