Things I Hold Dear

By G Combs

Being held in grandma's arms after working on grandpa's farm.
Schooldays I enjoyed and things I learned.
A mom and dad for teaching me to accept what comes my way.
Blessings of each new day.
The small cry of a new baby I hold dear, smell of flowers growing near.
Greatful for the opportunity to share in the lives of 53 foster children,
Knowing I made a difference in their lives.
The joy of 3 grandsons who hold you dear if you are far or near.
A husband who you know will always be there for you if skies are gray or blue.
A mother's joy of a new baby created by the master of earth and sky.
The smell of fresh baked pie.
Thankful for a thing as small as a kitten at play.
Thankful for rest at the end of each new day.
Blessings for continued health which teaches you money is not your only wealth.
