I'm sorry, Dear
by

Miriam C. Moore

"I'm sorry, my love,"
Out loud I cry.
Then with a sigh
I'd remember why,

When he called out
"Come sit with me,"
His comfort I'd deny.

"I've worked all day;
I'd rather read," I'd say.
"Please watch T.V.
Away from me."

And now that he is gone,
I miss his plea,
And hope that he can see
How much he means to me.

"I'm sorry, dear,"
Once more I say,
And now as then,
I wish that he were near.
