| Life's Mirror by Marie Williams |

Walking past the mirror, A woman stopped to look And what she saw, while there, She wrote down in a book. She stood up straight and tall, Turned from side to side. She stepped a little closer, Saying, "Some things I can't hide." She tucked the book away, With housework yet to do, Hoping she'd get back to it In an hour ... or two. The time had come and gone. Weeks changed into years. The book collected dust, 'Til her first grandchild appeared. She found the book, once hidden, Then opened it to read. 'Twas much to her surprise, These words set her free. Now, if you are thinking, "I, too, would like to know Just what that book had in it," To you I'll gladly show. "Reflections of Life's Mirrors Aren't measured from this glass. For, glass can be deceiving. Outward beauty soon shall pass. Your beauty is within you, If God's love is in your heart. Reflecting light to all the world, What joy it shall impart." |
