Like Peter by Carol D. Meeks

In our strength we are weak. Like Peter was when Enthusiasm overcame him, And he denied Him thrice. But God knows Us and wishes us to seek Him and grow in His image As Peter did. God's faithfulness, God's love, And God's fidelity, Can polish us just like He polished Peter. Then like Him we become And like Peter we can be, With peace as a dove Untarnished and free.
