| Lord You are a Blessing to Me by Vicki Wood |
|
I'm sitting here thinking about The day I will see Your face, Such an honour bestowed me, Such an amazing grace. I sit with my head in my hands, Wanting to cry as pain Ravishes my body, and ask Of you, "Why, Lord? why?" I ask every one, "Just please, Don't touch me. Don't even bump it." I guess I will always be in pain 'Til the time Gabriel blows his trumpet. Lord, I know I'm not supposed to Understand why or any of the reason But every year, every month, And every day of every season ... I come to You, Lord, with my spirit broken And my soul is dangerously bent. I get reminded, by God, that I was saved By His Son, Jesus, who God lovingly sent. I get so tired, weak, and just, oh, so weary From the aches and all the pain. Sometimes, it's so hard for me to hang on To reality. or, am I going insane? There is two things I ask of you, Lord, And that is to be happy and healthy Because, when my time comes, I can't take Earthly things. so, why ask to be wealthy? Lord, you're a blessing to me and oh, So precious too. so, why can't You see When I call upon You? please, touch me, Bless and heal me. oh, what a day that will be! My life here, on earth, is nothing But a prisoner in a painful, empty, ol' shell. But, through you, Lord, one day, I'll never hurt, Cry, or get sick. oh, won't that be swell! Even though I'm still a human, that Makes me a truly confessed sinner, Please forgive me, Lord, and, with all of my heart I ask, won't you come to my family dinner? Thank you, Lord, for loving me And setting my soul free. I can't wait to see you and walk With you - right next to me. |
