| Mary, What Was It Like? by Vicki Wood |
|
Mary, what was it like Being a pure, untouched, virgin; Knowing you were the one, The blessed one, God had chosen To carry His child? You must have felt special. For, this wasn't any burden. Mary, what was it like upon Learning of this blessed event? You were the one to be sanctified Through God's glorified touch, From this moment forward. God'' heavenly gift is His child to be sent. Mary, were you afraid of the gossip And words that might have been said? Or, did you wonder if they knew just How holy and precious you were For your carrying God's child, even though You were engaged to be wed? Mary, what was it like When you felt movement From this precious child? Was it then, when you felt Your love for Him, or when Joseph felt this life inside of you And, joyfully, just smiled? Mary what was it like, When time was near, With no place to stay? Weren't you worried or Scarred that there was No place to be found? The weather was, oh, so cold. Yet, for you and Joseph, There was no bed for Jesus to lay. Mary, what was it like Giving birth to Jesus, the One Given through God's grace? How did you feel, as you held The precious Baby in your arms? Did you realize that, When you were kissing Jesus, You were kissing God's glowing face? Mary, what was it like to At Jesus and His tiny, tiny, face? Isn't it something, Mary, Just to know that You held our Saviour? You gave birth to the Son of God, Only through the touch Of God's amazing grace. |
