| My Smokey by Jacklynn MacKenzie |
|
Soft, velvety furry one, You bring to me such joy; As you sit beside me purring, Or chase your "catnip" toy. You cheer me up when I am down, You take away my dreary frown. You love me so and this I know - For when a'hunting you sometimes go You're back at the door, with a gift for me, A mouse or a squirrel, You found under a tree. So proud you are Of the prey you caught, You want to be praised For this gift you have brought. I look at you just sitting there, The wind blows through your bluegrey hair, A mane like a lion, circling your face - You're so full of style, you're so full of grace! Huge green eyes, like precious gems, Stare at me with a wondering gaze - Purring and meowing, as you "talk" to me Telling me what you've done today. How can anyone not love This animal so divine? This soft and furry Smokey cat - I'm so happy that he's mine. |
