Poems

Obsolete
by

George J. Miller

God describes vaguely
What heaven will be like.
His Spirit envisions that paradise to be.

Always,He begins
It is a place like nothing you have seen,
Or ever will in that body you call human.

For this truth I speak,
What you hold of import here on earth;
May be of no value in heaven.

"Only your God will matter!"

Much of what is now
Thought, love and wisdom,
Will become pictures of heaven.

Like all things spiritual,
Only Gods chosen
Will see with new eyes.

For like Christ, you to
Will have died to self
Forever.

"And he said unto them, Verily I say unto
you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents,
or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom
of God's sake,
who shall not receive manifold more in this present time,
and in the world to come life everlasting
".
Luke18: 29, 30

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated
me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love
his own: but because ye are not of the world, but
I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
world hateth you."
John 15: 18, 19

"And now come I to thee;and these things I
I speak in the world, that they might have my joy
fulfilled in themselves.
I have given them thy word; and the world
hath hated them, because they are not of the world.
John 17:13,14
