Port Morien
by

Jacklynn MacKenzie

Port Morien is a quaint fishing village,
Whose harbor looks out over the sea,
Its fishing boats of every hue
Are docked in the harbor for all to see.

In Spring and Summer
You can see them each day;
What a glorious sight,
As the sun rises over the bay!

The fishermen are up before dawn,
While we are fast asleep;
They fill their boats with lobster traps,
To set in the ocean deep.

The boats leave the harbor
One after the other,
Out towards the sea;
They look like a colorful armada,
As they head for their destiny.
The fishermen set their lobster traps
Hoping they will reap,
A bountiful harvest of lobster,
To take home for you and me.

But a feed of lobster doesn't come very cheap,
They're scarcer and scarcer each year
For some reason,
But then, what's price,
When they taste so nice,
Especially at Lobster Season!
