Poems

I SAW AN ELEPHANT

By Dinesh Yoganantham
(Age 7 years)

elephant

I saw an elephant
Big and strong
With a dry grey trunk
Which is too long

I saw an elephant
Which is dark and grey
It uses its trunk
To eat hay

Elephant I saw an elephant
with long tusks
it’s not very clean
but uses it to charge

I saw an elephant
Lying in the water
I wonder if it squirts
Or does the splits

I saw an elephant
Stomping along
With big fat legs
And blowing its horn
