Sitting in the Swing

How often he would sit out in the swing;
Sometimes you could hear him sing
Songs of praise to the Lord above,
Thanking Him for His precious love.

In the early morning there he would be--
Sitting in the swing by the big oak tree.
There he would sit to meditate and pray,
Asking the Lord to show him the way.

Cancer did not defeat him all.
He never swayed from his Father's call.
Hours still were spent out on the swing
Praising and thanking Jesus the King.

Now no one is sitting out in the swing
For Dad went home to be with the King.
The swing sits now--so empty and still--
Where once a great man sought his Lord's will.
