So Far Away
by

Robert H. Gilbert Jr

As I look at their pictures, everyday,
I see the tears and smiles on their face.
I also see the love in their eyes.
Yet, they are so far away.

The gray, in their hair, is from years of caring.
Without them, who would have cared?
How could I be so strong, if they were not there?
Yet, they are so far away.

No more do I hear their voice on the phone.
Nor do they call out my name.
No more pictures will we share,
As they are so far away.

Someday, the pictures and the tears will all be gone.
They will no longer matter anymore,
As we all shall be together;
So far away, at Heaven's door.
