The Greatest Friend
by

Joyce Elaine Morris

Even birds say hi.
When you pass them by
Ivories clamber too
To pay tribute to you.

Because you're so strong.
You captured the throng
That once shadowed you.
They fancy you too.

I know a good thing
And, you clearly bring
Joy, peace and love
Gentle as a dove.

A perfect friend
Through thick and thin,
It would be silly
To gild the lily.

Tried tested and true
I do love you.
My friend, a treasure
Beyond any measure.
