Tossed To and Fro
by

Elena Ramirez

The waves of life can
Toss you here and there,
If you have no anchor
To hold you secure.

Is Christ holding you there,
Steady, with his loving care?
Or, are you barely holding on,
Not feeling that strong ...

Tossed to and fro,
Not knowing which way to go,
Double minded -
Somewhat blind sighted?

One minute, you have peace;
Next minute, not at ease.
Something, easily,
can distract your mind;
Without peace from God, divine.

Standing at the
Crossroads of time,
You look for a sign
Which way to go.
Only by seeking God you know.

A gentle breeze,
By the Holy Spirit,
Guides you as you leave
The past behind.

There, you find
He was with you, through it all,
And know he never let you go
By his love, to show
He would not let you fall.

Now, you know who you are,
A child of the Lord, God, Almighty;
A heritage of Royalty.
Blinders off, you see.

You accept,
Who you are in Christ.
By his spirit, there is peace.
With praise, obedience, it does increase;
Learning, as you believe,
He will never leave.

He turns the wrong into right,
The darkness into light.
It is he who leads you.
You know, somehow, someway,
You will get a breakthrough.

So, follow your heart, true in him,
Free from the trappings of sin.
Let the word of God
Guide you to begin ...

No longer tossed to and fro.
For, it is God
That you know.

Ephesians 4:14
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

Proverbs 21:6
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Father,

I bless you and your love that securely holds me, that never leaves me or forsakes me. Yes, it took a long time, for me to recognize this love, you have, for me. But, throughout my life, you have been there.

When I was younger and I stumbled, you held me up. When I sinned, you corrected me; never letting go, as you held me. When I was deceived, you held me. When I did not know who you were, you held me.

All through my life, you have held me. And because of that, I will myself to hold onto you: to hold on to your promises, to your Holy word, to your strength, to your power, to your Holy Majesty.

I give you Honor and hold on because Christ did all that for me. As my sins were nailed to him, on that cross, I was made free and I am free, indeed. I am free to Hold onto truth and life abundantly in you. So, I do, with a free will.

I give you thanks and praise, my Holy Father, and give you all glory due your name; the name above all names.

My Jesus, Amen
