You Didn't Forsake Your Son
by

Vicki Wood

Dear God, You didn't forsake
Your only begotten Son.
You only opened another door
And a new life begun.

I love you, Jesus, and
I have faith in thee.
So, stand by my door
With your heavenly key.

I feel as if I've been
Locked up and caged.
But, the Holy Spirit came
To me and, now, I'm saved.

Come, hear my prayer
Of need, this hour.
For, it is you who has
The almighty power.

Turn all my sorrows
And ill health
Into happiness
And spiritual wealth.

Don't let me see only
What I want to see.
Precious Jesus, guide my sight
On what is only to be.

Touch my ears
For answers, I pray.
For, I want to hear
What you have to say.

Each new day brings
A different task.
I pray you guide my soul
With your rod and staff.
