| Conversation With Daddy |
|
Mr. God, I got borned again, today. Daddy said to me, "Little Andy, What do you know 'bout Jesus?" I know he was borned on Christmas And that he loves us ... And He is the son of God, ain't he? Daddy said that is true And Mary is his mommy. "That's all true, son. What else do ya un'erstand?" That He knows me And I was planned. What do ya want me to know, Daddy? "Well, do you know why He had to die?" No, daddy I don't. But, it sure did make me cry. "I'm sure it did, son. But, you need to know why." Well, daddy, I'm tryin' to un'erstand. Why did he hafta die? Daddy says he died for me, To take away my sin. I think sin and bad are the same. When I'm bad, that is sin to him. "What happened after that, Andy? What did Jesus do?" I know, I know, he raised from the grave And went back to heaven, too. "That's right, Andy. So, Jesus died to make my sin go away And he raised from the dead So he could take us to heaven, someday. I see, daddy. Jesus loved us. He loved that much, for me. He lives in heaven, right now. Doesn't he? "Yes, Andy. But, did you know He wants to live in your heart, today?" Oh, daddy, I think he's way to big. Is there a magic way? "Well, Andy, Jesus and God are spirits And they can live in you. You jest hafta to ask him in. That's all ya hafta do." Wow, daddy, can I do that right now? "Yes, Andy. Yes, you can, right now." How, daddy? Show me how - Jesus in my heart, right now. Well, Andy, talk to Jesus. Ask Him to come in, To live in your heart, And take away your sin. Andy's Prayer Dear Jesus, this is Little Andy And I want you to live in my heart, today. I'm sorry for bein' bad, sometimes. Will ya take my sin away? I will try to be a good boy And grow up to be a nice man. Daddy says, if I let ya lead me, Then I surely can. Thank you for dyin' for me. I'm sorry that ya had to. But, I'm glad you did. My sins are gone, All because of you. Thank you, Jesus. Amen "Well, Andy, if you believe All you did was right and true Then, Jesus now lives in your heart And He will go everywhere with you." Am I a Christian, now, daddy, Like you and momma? "Yes, Andy, you have been born, again; Just like momma and me." Daddy hugged me an, and, cried; And momma did, too. Jesus, they said that I'm not jest their son, But I'm a son of God - jest like you. That makes us brothers, I guess. But Momma says to call ya 'Lord, Jesus'. I can talk to ya when I learn to pray So when I talk to your daddy I can talk to you too each day. I'll try to keep my heart nice an clean 'Cause you'll be livin' there; And you can make me more like you And go with me, everywhere. Have a good day, Mr. God. From me and my Lord, Jesus. We will be together for always, When ya look for us. Thanks, from Little Andy. Herein is the plan of salvation, as simple as it can be; Believe, repent, receive, and live for Him each day. Someone as little as Little Andy Can lead you in the way. |
