| I Stand Before Him |
|
Who could stand in His presence And not feel humbled so completely? Who couldn't look in those eyes And say how very much He loved me. Who could set gaze upon Him Without crying out in praise? O, Holy One of God, Promise of tomorrow; Bread for today, ancient of days. Dear Lamb of God, hear my Anthem of Praise. Hear my song of worship and adoration. Let all that I am or will be Fall, at your feet, in rapt attention. O, to hear you say to me, "Well done, my child, faithful and true. Your war is over. Come on home. There is so much waiting here for you." Then, to bury myself in the sweetness of His smile, To know He takes pleasure in my song And that He gives ear to my supplication As I sing to Him, all the day long ... Just to touch His nailed scared hands And pour tears within the prints there of, To kiss the feet that were nailed And also carry the scars of love. Here, I wait, breathless before Him, In awe of such awesome perfection; Never really understanding how He could Hold me with such wondrous affection. His love knew no boundaries. He sought me from the pits of deepest sin. He lifted me, though so unworthy. My purchase price was all paid by Him. Hear my prayer, Sweet Hope for Tomorrow, My Bread for today. O thou, ancient of days, I pray, Lead me in your way. Amen |
