Jesus Is Comin' Back

Hi ya, Mr. God.
How do ya feel, today?
I just wanna ask ya somthun',
If'n that's ok.

I heard daddy tell his friend
That Jesus is comin' back. He said
His friend says bad words, a lot.
I think his name is Fred.

Fred jest laughed at my daddy
And said, "That ain't true."
But, I know daddy don't lie.
So, I'm askin' you.

If'n that is true, I sure wish it is.
Tell Jesus He can stay with us.
We got a'nuff room for Him and,
Boy, momma will really fuss.

He can sleep in my room.
He can have the top bunk
And we can watch TV, eat popcorn,
And lots of other junk.

Is He bringin' the angels, too?
They can stay in with little sis, I s'pose.
Momma's been askin' 'em to watch over her,
'Cause she got a cold on her nose.

Daddy says he will come on a big white horse.
Boy, that is so cool!
All the kids'll stop by here,
On their way to school.

I don't know what angels eat.
Momma makes vegetables, a whole bunch.
But, sometimes, she makes tuna sandwiches,
'Stead of vegetables, for lunch.

Daddy says Jesus ate bread and drank wine.
We ain't got none of that.
Momma says he turned the water to wine.
O, I can show Him where the water's at.

I dunno, where He will park His horse.
Are the angels bringin' horses, too?
Daddy says he's comin' to fight the devil.
Is that what angels do?

I'm not sure he lives around here
And momma says he is really bad,
And that he is always near.

Maybe you could send a picture of him and
We could look through every house. Okay?
We can help Jesus catch the devil,
If he comes this way.

Do ya know when he is comin'?
I'm gonna look in my penny jar,
So I can buy Jesus a present.
Do ya know how much presents are?

I told the lady, next door,
That I was gonna buy Jesus a special treat.
She petted my hair and cheek,
And said, "Andy, that is so sweet."

I tole' Daddy to wait 'til Jesus gets here.
"Then, you can show 'em to Fred."
Daddy looked all kinda sad. He says
That will be too late, he didn't take any notice of what Jesus said.

Well, Mr. God, it's time for supper and,
Then, I got get my room all ready for Jesus;
'Cause it needs to be all clean and stuff,
If'n he is gonna stay with us.

Momma says, when he gets here,
He will be a king.
I sure hope Mr. Bush won't be hurt,
If he looses his job or anything.

Tell Jesus we want him to hurry,
a'fore the devil gets away;
'Cause, if he has to chase him a lot,
We won't get much time to play.

Tell Jesus he might have to hide his horse,
'Cause momma won't let me have a puppy or a kitty.
And, I know she won't like somthun' that big -
Staying here, in the city.

But, she loves Jesus a whole big lot.
Maybe she can make a'ception for one.
I'll ask her, right after supper is over
And all my chores are done.

Gotta go, Mr. God.
Say 'hi' to everyone, up there.
Good night. From little Andy.

Even as little Andy prepares his room,
have you got his room ready in your heart
