A Prayer Warrior's Prayer
Lord, help me pray for others,
In spite of how I might feel.
Let me see Your sweet children
Through Your eyes, so real.
Let them be more than just a name
That had requested for a need.
Don't let me pick apart their asking.
Just help me intercede.
Let their problems become my own,
So I might pray effectually.
Open my eyes in the spiritual,
So I can pray their need.
Help me, Lord, to do this well.
Through your Holy Spirit,
Let Him prepare my prayers ~
To be humbled before You hear it.
Make me, Lord, more like Thy self.
So, let my spirit weep for others.
Put me last and them first in thought,
So I can pray for my sisters and brothers.
Help me to put self aside,
So I might serve You graciously.
Bring others to my mind, O Lord,
So as not to dwell so much on me.
Fill my heart to overflowing,
With love that questions naught.
Help me bring them to Your throne
For answers they have sought..
Create in me, dear Jesus,
A heart that rushes to forgive ~
So I might be more like You.
'Tis the way I choose to live.
Let me see Your hand
As it led me through the years,
Things You set before me.
Let it be a love song to Your ears ...
Where the valleys were so deep
And how you brought me through,
So I can say, with all hope,
He will do the same for You.
Let me pray for them, dear Lord,
That will raise a surety of hope.
Let me pray with faith and love,
Words that You Your self have spoke.
Give me spiritual sight to their need
And ears to hear beyond their cry.
Lead me to the right questions.
But, Lord, teach me not to pry.
For, there are things I need not know
To bring it to You in prayer.
For, You know all that's needed
Before I bring it there.
Teach me to be a listener,
As it is the essential part,
To really understand the request
And take it to my heart.
I am a warrior,
To minister as you choose.
If it would help me pray better,
Then, let me walk some in their shoes.
May some of my life's lessons
Be of help, along their way.
Then, what You have taught to me,
Give me understanding as I pray.
Humble me, as You see I need,
To make me more like You.
If I'm Your hand extended,
Show me what You want me to do.
If You need to break my heart,
A better warrior to be,
Then do what needs be done, Father God.
Do what would be better for thee.
Let their request take all priority.
Help me be a friend, honest and true.
Then, lead me by Your grace and
May all praise and glory be unto you.
I ask, in the name of Jesus,
Through the Holy Spirit and, then,
Accept my humble intercession
As I bring them to You ---- Amen
