| Unto Forgiveness The Truth |
|
How often do we assassinate another, By word of mouth, hatefully said? How often do we kill the atoning Spirit When we pursue that which has been pled? We must learn 'tis not ours to forgive. Forgiveness is from the Lord. We, in all honesty to our God, need to help The transgressor to be restored. If forgiveness is asked of you for a trespass Then, embrace the one to fellowship, again. Bring it not, again, to your lips So that you might not fall into your own sin. The tongue is a two edged sword, Either for the good or bad. To see our brother restored, in love, Should make the spirit glad. Hold nothing to another's charge. Let it go. Let God handle it all, So your heart comes to Him; Cleanly washed at the Master's call. He has not called you as judge or jury. Yours is to be the quiet voice, To lead the fallen brother to Jesus. To condemn or forgive is His choice. Pray that your mouth not be an offender. Let your answers be yea or nay. Be not double minded. Speak, in all truth, what you have to say. Be the one who can be trusted With the thoughts of a friend. Don't use their heart As a means to another end. Let others sins be upon them. You need not tell it all around. Let the truth, and only the truth, In your spirit be, then, found. Defile not your own soul With the transgression of another, Know nothing save Jesus Christ. 'Tis your duty toward your erring brother. Don't let your manners Be a guessing game of your heart, Of whether you are a disciple of the Lord Or if He has just a little part. Be sold out or be nothing at all. From your lips, sing unto Him your praise. Blessed is the lips That His anthem can raise. |
