Remember What We Celebrate

Easter is the day that we celebrate
A risen Lord that suffered our fate.

The sins of the world were on Him.
"I will do that, Father, for them."

If we would forget, it is not Spring we celebrate.
It is not new clothes or family gatherings that make
This day so special, that we cannot wait.

It is the resurrection of our Lord we celebrate.
Many will attend church, for the first time this year,
Not to return until this time next year.

God bless my e-mail and poetry friends
That live far and near.
You have sent them into my life and I hold them dear.

Some, I will never meet, in this world, face to face.
Yet, you have a purpose for the friendships we make.

We have our faith in common.
That makes us brothers and sisters.
Happy Easter, dear one. This poem is for you.
