To Know God The More

One Sunday afternoon some Christians came to speak at the prison, they desperately tried to lead me to Christ, but I constantly rejected God. I dreaded Sunday when the church service began, I hide, I didn't go. How could God save a sinner like me? I deserved only hell fire, not the wonderful salvation that was being offered to me. For several years I keep doing this. After prison, one day two men, who had been of real help to my wife, came to see me, my wife had asked them to come, this time I decided to listen. I feel guiltiest for my life of sin. That night I thought how I had never given God a chance in my life. Immediately I picked up my Bible and for the first time in years I opened it starting from the Gospel of John. Over the next few days I read it through. The following Sunday at church the speaker read Revelation 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him", that verse want straight to my heart. So one afternoon I want to my friend house, he was reading and filling the SOON Bible course, there was a copy of the SOON Broadsheet issue with the title "Wall of fire". I picked it up and read it. It had a big effect on my life when I read of the soldier saying "I realised this was not the fire we know but a fire sent by God. If this is how your God answers your prayers, I want to know him too." So it was same with me I said to myself "I must write to SOON to have some information" so I asked to start to giving my whole life to Jesus Christ, no looking back.
