| A Love Too Late |
|
When my mind began to wander, To where I did not know, Suddenly your face appeared With an electrifying glow. You gently placed my hand in yours And pressed your lips to mine. Your kisses tasted warm and sweet, Like the flavor of fine wine. You told me you were leaving And wanted me to follow. My eyes filled up with many tears. My throat, it could not swallow. For, we are from two different worlds. Our ways are not the same. Your life and mine are far apart. For that, we're not to blame. Although we live as lonely souls And happiness we've not found, We cannot share our lives this moment; Though sadness still abounds. So, on we journey to search, once more, In a world which seems so bare. Perhaps we'll meet again, sometime. I hope to see you there. |
